Express Entry is Canada's primary immigration system for skilled workers. It manages three federal programs: Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades (FST). Candidates are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and top-scoring candidates receive Invitations to Apply (ITA) in regular draws.
CRS cutoffs vary by draw. Recent general draws have had cutoffs between 500-530. However, with a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) nomination, you receive 600 additional points, which makes an invitation very likely in one of the next draws. Category-based draws (healthcare, STEM, trades, French) can have cutoffs as low as 380-480.
For most economic immigration programs, yes — you need a valid language test. Accepted tests include IELTS General, CELPIP General, PTE Core (English), and TEF Canada / TCF Canada (French). The minimum required CLB level depends on the program (typically CLB 7 for FSW, CLB 5 for CEC).
AIP is an employer-driven program for hiring foreign nationals in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI, and Newfoundland & Labrador. You need a job offer from a designated employer. It's ideal for early childhood educators (ECEs), healthcare workers, and skilled tradespeople. Processing takes approximately 26 months.
Government fees for Express Entry PR are approximately $1,590 per person ($990 processing fee + $600 RPRF). Additional costs include biometrics ($85), medical exam (~$200-400), language tests (~$300-400), and credential assessment (~$200-300). Use our Cost Estimator tool above for a detailed breakdown by pathway.
Yes! We offer ATS-optimized resume writing, LinkedIn and Indeed profile setup, cover letter writing, mock interview preparation, and job application support. For Atlantic Canada, we have direct connections with designated employers hiring early childhood educators (ECE) and other in-demand roles. Job placement is free for job seekers — employers pay us.
It depends on the pathway. Express Entry is the fastest at ~6 months. AIP takes ~26 months. PNP-based PR takes ~15 months. Family sponsorship (spouse) is ~12 months. Use our Processing Time Tracker tool for the latest estimates on all application types.
