Start with your campus: career centres, on-campus jobs, and co-op offices are the easiest wins because they expect students. Off campus, most students can work up to 24 hours per week during study terms, so check your study permit conditions and never exceed your limit, as it can affect future applications. Retail, food service, warehouses, and customer service hire students constantly; applying in person with a simple one-page resume still works for these roles. You'll need a Social Insurance Number before you start.
