Mock Interview Preparation for Daycare & ECE Jobs

The Solution Hub offers mock interview preparation built specifically for daycare and early childhood education (ECE) jobs in Canada. We rehearse the real questions child care centres ask — so you walk in ready. Free as part of our employer-funded placement, or available on its own.

Overview

Daycare interviews are different. We prepare you for the ones that matter.

The Solution Hub provides mock interview preparation specifically for daycare and early childhood education (ECE) roles — not generic interview coaching. Daycare directors ask about child safety, parent communication, and how you handle a room full of toddlers on a hard day. General advice doesn't cover that; we do.

Our coaches rehearse the questions Canadian child care centres actually ask, help you turn your own experience into clear examples, and give you honest feedback so you sound calm and capable on the day. It works for newcomers and international students who trained or worked with children abroad and want to present that experience the Canadian way.

This preparation is included free as part of our employer-funded daycare placement, and is also available on its own — in person in the Toronto / Etobicoke area or online.

What We Rehearse

The real questions daycare centres ask

Child safety & supervision

How you keep children safe, follow ratios, handle incidents and emergencies, and document what happened — the questions directors care about most.

Parent & guardian communication

Daily updates, tough conversations, and building trust with families — practised until it feels natural in English.

Classroom & room management

Routines, transitions, activity planning, and keeping a busy room calm and engaged across different age groups.

Behaviour-guidance scenarios

"Tell me about a time a child…" questions — biting, tantrums, conflict — answered with a clear, positive-guidance approach.

RECE competency questions

For registered roles, the competency areas provincial colleges expect — professionalism, ethics, and child development.

Presenting overseas experience

How to describe childcare experience earned abroad so a Canadian employer understands its value — a common newcomer stumbling block.

Our Focus

Early childhood education is what we do

The Solution Hub specializes in early childhood education and daycare — that is the field we coach for and place candidates in. Our interview preparation is built around childcare roles: ECE assistants, registered early childhood educators, room supervisors, and program staff.

Clinical fields such as nursing and other healthcare roles fall outside our specialty, so for those interviews a healthcare-focused provider is a better fit. For daycare, ECE, and education-support interviews, we're a focused, experienced option — and this prep pairs naturally with our free ECE & daycare job placement and ATS resume service.

Canadian daycare and ECE interviews focus on child safety and supervision, how you communicate with parents and guardians, classroom and room management, guiding difficult behaviour, and scenario or "tell me about a time with children" questions. Registered ECE roles may also test competency areas expected by the provincial college. We help you prepare clear, concrete answers for each, using examples from your own experience.

No. We do not guarantee a job or that you will pass any interview — no honest service can, because hiring decisions rest with the employer. What mock interview preparation does is help you walk in ready: clear answers, calm delivery, and real examples that show a daycare director you can do the job.
